Better pictures

Kate was going back past the block, so she managed to snap some better pictures. The colours look a bit better in this one.

External Colours

It's hard to tell what the colours on the balcony will look like from these pictures. Kate snapped them from her mobile on the way past today. We'll have to get out there on the weekend and get some better shots, with better camera and lighting. The boards appear to have been painted too.

Brick cleaning started

Not such spectacular visible progress this week, but things seem to be moving on none the less. The brick cleaning has been started. Very happy with the colour. They look even better than I'd thought. Not too much else seems to have happened. I could just get a glimpse through the window of what I'm sure was the silver ducting for the ducted air con.

The electricians are coming early next week.

Amazing progress - we have a roof

We were totally amazed today at the progress when we drove to our house. We knew the roof was going on this week, so we were expecting to see it, but we didn't really expect to see too much else. What we discovered was that the cladding was also almost all done. The place is really starting to come together on the outside and it is beginning to resemble the finished product.

A good outcome

The wrong bricks will be staying. To Eden Brae's credit, as soon as they realised the error, they offered to immediately rectify the problem. Because we did not want to see the progress of the build stall, we have agreed to keep the brick and morocco finish on the multi room. Eden Brae have graciously agreed to upgrade the oven to a 900mm one and install a few additional power points and light points that we wish we had added at the electrical appointment. All in all a good outcome.

Gutters and battens

Today we saw that the gutters and facias are on. The roof battons have also been installed, ready for roofing next week. Weather forecast is for showers until Wednesday, but we are hoping to have a roof by the end of the week.

Wrong bricks

We realised today that the bricks on the front multi room are the wrong ones. These should be the boral blackheaths, like the rest of the house. We'll have to ring the site supervisor tomorrow and see what can be done.

Bricks finished

A trip out to the block today revealed that the bricks are now finally finished. Haven't managed to get a close up look, but from what we could see they look pretty good. Just the cladding now and the roof, and we will be getting close to lock up.
